The 84 miles of the Green River that run through Desolation and Gray Canyons provide a premiere river trip in Utah's deepest canyon. Permits for river trips are required year-round for this remote area and must obtained well in advance for private trips. For the less-experienced boater, many commercially outfitted trips are available.
