May 15 - 17 - Second Annual Maine Festival of the Book, Portland - The Festival will present panel discussions on the art of writing mystery and suspense, maritime fiction and nonfiction, and young adult fiction. May 17 - June 14 - Moose Mainea Kid's Quest Fest, Greenville - A Quest Fest will be held this spring in conjunction with Moose Mania. The Natural Recourse Education Council's Maine Woods Explorers, Charlotte White Center's Life Jackets Program, the Appalachian Mountain Club and a volunteer from the National Park Service are putting together a number of area Quests to produce a Quest Booklet. These Quests will highlight the region's natural and historical assets, and create an opportunity for participants to explore and learn about the communities, landmarks and natural resources that is the North Maine Woods.
