October 7 - 13 - Daniel Boone Festival, Barbourville - The festival features a parade, queen contest, and a visit from the Cherokee Indians of North Carolina. A feast is held for the signing of the Cane Treaty between the Indians and Barbourville citizens. Other attractions are an arts and crafts fair, carnival, and much more. May 16 - 18 - Battle of Sacramento, Sacramento - Experience the Reenactment of the Battle of Sacramento. This Civil War Battle was fought on December 28, 1861. The battlefield is the undisputed location of Nathan Bedford Forrest's First Fight! Forrest's First is the largest Cavalry Battle in the State of Kentucky.
