The Academy of Natural Sciences and Steinhart Aquarium opened the doors to their 875 Howard Street Location in downtown San Francisco on June 19, 2004. The Academy successfully moved many of Steinhart Aquarium’s animals into their new downtown home.
Spend a morning or afternoon at 875 Howard Street, a temporary location while the Academy rebuilds in Golden Gate Park. Discover changing natural history exhibits that explore the natural world.
In Steinhart Aquarium, the Academy will bring the back of the house to the front, feel the dirt in the dry habitats, sense the temperature of the tank water, visit with aquatic biologists and take in the view of a two-story living coral reef.
